How to draw a scooter

Drawing people

Step by step instructions

In the tutorials in this series you will find step-by-step instructions with sample images that explain exactly how a human body can be drawn.

We start with simple circles and guidelines, which we develop into a basic framework in order to be able to draw human proportions. The shapes are refined with the help of simple tips and tricks and before we know it we have drawn a person!

Practice creates masters

Actually, drawing is all about correctly translating what you see onto a piece of paper. As with a language, you just have to know how to apply certain rules.

If you regularly practice drawing people, then one day you will even be able to do without circles and guidelines completely, because over time you will develop a feeling for distances and proportions all by yourself. Things that seem complicated, like drawing portraits, will then be very easy for you. Through repeated practice, you will become more confident in drawing and experience a lot more joy in doing it.

... also for beginners?

Of course, the tutorials are also suitable for beginners! You only need three things: a pencil, paper and a little time.

Those who are gifted with talent will learn faster. If you think you have no talent, you can compensate for this with enough diligence and become good too. Because we can all learn how to draw.

Tips

  • The first attempts will be the worst, but don't let that discourage you! The next drawing will always be better than the one before.
  • In addition to the tutorials for practicing, it is worth taking a photo as a reference.
  • Asymmetry is not a mistake, it belongs to nature (even if we have got used to almost flawless people through media).
  • Regardless of whether you practice in a sketchbook or on various loose pieces of paper: the main thing is that you keep the exercises. The best way to learn is from old mistakes.
  • Drawing people is not necessarily easy, but with patience and diligence anyone can learn it. So stay tuned and don't give up!
