Merry Christmas everywhere: text and notes to sing together

of Johanna Grewer Updated: 11/14/2016

The song "Merry Christmas everywhere" has been in use in Germany since 1885 and is particularly suitable for singing with children because it is so catchy. The Christmas carol comes from England. But it is not known who wrote it.

Merry Christmas everywhere

1st - 3rd "Merry Christmas everywhere",
joyous sound resounds through the air.
Christmas tone, Christmas tree,
Christmas scent in every room.
"Merry Christmas everywhere",
joyous sound resounds through the air.

1. Therefore everyone joins the cheering tone;
for the light of the world comes from the father's throne.

2. Light on the dark path of life, you are our light;
because you bring those who trust you to blissful rest.
"Merry Christmas everywhere" …

3. Whatever we others have done, be done for you,
that everyone must confess: Christ Child came for me.
"Merry Christmas everywhere" …
