X Æ A-12: Elon Musk explains how to pronounce his son's name

According to the authorities, Elon Musk (48) is actually not officially allowed to name his newborn child X Æ A-12. But the Tesla boss apparently doesn't care: He's now explaining how to pronounce this strange name correctly - and who came up with the idea.

On Thursday's "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, Musk said it was his girlfriend and mother of the child, singer Grimes, who "most of all came up with the name." “She's great in names,” said the 48-year-old.

The X at the beginning of the name is pronounced normally like the letter X. The Æ is emphasized like the English ash (German: ash). The A-12, on the other hand, was his contribution to the name, Musk says in the podcast. The name part should be a tribute to the Lockheed A-12 reconnaissance aircraft from the United States Central Intelligence Agency - "the coolest aircraft of all time," said the Tesla boss.

The boy with the special name was born on Monday. It is already Musk's sixth son, but the first from his relationship with musician Grimes. Regarding the fact that he has now become a father again at 48, Musk says: “Actually, I think it's better to be older and have a child. I appreciate it more. " And he adds: "Babies are great."
