Harry James Potter (born July 31, 1980 in Godric's Hollow) is a half-blooded wizard, the only child of James and Lily Potter (née Evans), the godson of Sirius Black and one of the most famous wizards of modern times.

He was the co-founder and head of Dumbledore's army, a member of the Order of the Phoenix and the focus of resistance against Voldemort during the Second Wizarding War. He was the one who hunted and destroyed Voldemort's Horcruxes after Dumbledore's death. In the final battle of the Battle of Hogwarts, it led to Voldemort's destruction. In addition, he was once in legal possession of all three Deathly Hallows, of which he only kept the invisibility cloak in his possession.

After a prophecy that a boy would be born in late July 1980 who would be able to stand up to Lord Voldemort, Voldemort attempted to murder said boy. Voldemort attacked Harry and his family, not knowing that another boy was born in the same month. He had thus fulfilled the first part of the prophecy and marked the boy as an equal. Harry's parents were both killed in the fight with Voldemort. Harry, however, survived under the protection of his mother and weakened Voldemort considerably by the rebound of the Avada Kedavra, so that only a barely viable something was left that fled to Albania. Harry kept his lightning scar from the encounter. In order to continue to ensure the protection of Lily's self-sacrificing death, the orphaned Harry was brought to live with his only living blood relatives on his mother's side, the Dursleys. As the only known survivor of the Killing Curse, Harry was famous from that point on, long before he went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Harry Potter was born on July 31, 1980 to James and Lily Potter, members of the First Order of the Phoenix, during the height of the First War. From birth he lived with his parents in a chosen hiding place because Lord Voldemort wanted to kill Harry. They lived in the village of Godric's Hollow in a house that was under the Fidelius spell. As part of the spell, they had planned to make Sirius Black their secret keeper, but on his advice they ultimately chose Peter Pettigrew as he was supposedly less suspected of knowing about the Potters. Pettigrew, who turned out to be Voldemort's spy, betrayed the family. He faked his own death and blamed Sirius for his death, that of 12 innocent Muggles, and the death of the Potters.

At an unknown time, Harry was baptized. The ceremony was calm and quick and only James, Lily, Sirius and Harry were in attendance. Sirius gave Harry a toy broom for his first birthday.

The Potters owned a cat, but it is unclear what happened to her after Voldemort's attack.

When Harry's parents were murdered on October 31, 1981, the 15-month-old baby was brought by Rubeus Hagrid to Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall, who took it to the Dursleys in Privet Drive. The Dursleys consisted of Harry's aunt Petunia Dursley (sister of Harry's mother), her husband Vernon Dursley and their son Dudley Dursley.

There he lived in a closet under the stairs, got little food and had to carry Dudley's worn out things. At the age of eleven he received numerous letters from Hogwarts, but he was never allowed to read them because the Dursleys wanted to hide from him that he was a wizard.

When the Dursleys fled from the masses of letters that haunted their house on Privet Drive every day, they came to a lonely island in the sea with an old hut. The following night, Rubeus Hagrid visited the hut in order to hand Harry his letter, which stated that he had been admitted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

He and Hagrid were preparing for his school year in Diagon Alley before boarding the train to Hogwarts. There he met his two future friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom. He will also see his archenemy Draco Malfoy one more time.

1st school year

Harry is assigned to Gryffindor by the Sorting Hat. He learns that Gringott's wizarding bank was broken into. More precisely, in dungeon 713, which he and Hagrid had emptied back then.

He, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, who are also in Gryffindor, fight a troll in the girls' bathroom and a three-headed dog named Fluffy who seems to be guarding something. They learn that the Philosopher's Stone was moved from Gringotts to Hogwarts and is now likely hidden there.

Since the potions teacher Snape is behaving mean, they suspect that he is after the stone. But when they pass Fluffy and numerous other deadly traps, they meet the teacher Quirrell, who works for Voldemort, with whom he shares his body.

After the final fight, from which Harry emerges victorious, he is taken to the hospital wing by the Headmaster Dumbledore, where everything that has happened to him is explained to him. Harry returns to the Dursleys for the summer vacation.

2nd school year

At Hogwarts, Gilderoy Lockhart is now the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Harry repeatedly hears hissing voices from the walls of the castle, and numerous students are found petrified.

Apparently the myth about the Chamber of Secrets is actually true, which says that Salazar Slytherin set up a secret chamber in which a basilisk lives, which can only be controlled by the heir of Slytherin.

Harry only finds out who the heir is when he finds the entrance to the chamber and descends. There he meets the youthful Tom Riddle, who turns out to be Lord Voldemort. Harry engages in a fight with the "monster" - a basilisk that has petrified the students. Harry can defeat him and destroy Tom Riddle with a basilisk tooth, who lived as a memory in his diary and was kept as a soul piece of Voldemort, a Horcrux.

3rd school year

Harry learns that the mass murderer Sirius Black has escaped from the wizarding prison in Azkaban and is now looking for him. The so-called Dementors are looking for Black and are also posted around the school.

The Second Year Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Lockhart the impostor, was rendered mentally impaired by his own rebounding Amnesia curse, so Remus Lupine has now taken over his post. Sirius Black has now been spotted at Hogwarts after all, and he manages to pull Ron Weasley into the Howling Shack - Harry and Hermione follow him.

Sirius Black, however, is Harry's godfather and the real murderer back then was Peter Pettigrew, who now suddenly appears. He disguised himself as a rat for years. When they capture Pettigrew, he escapes.

It turns out that Remus Lupine is a werewolf. Sirius Black was captured and imprisoned by Severus Snape and awaited him to be kissed by the Dementors. But Hermione and Harry can prevent that thanks to a time turner.

4th school year

The Triwizard Tournament will be held at Hogwarts this year. Three champions from the three European wizarding schools take part. But Harry is also thrown in as the fourth champion.

Alastor Moody has now taken over from Lupine and teaches Harry's class the Unforgivable Curses.

In the tournament there are three tasks for the champions: the first is a fight against a dragon, the second a person has to be freed from the Great Lake. The third task is to quickly find the Triwizard Cup in the middle of a large maze. Harry succeeds in this at the same time as Cedric Diggory. Both are teleported to a cemetery, where Cedric is killed and Lord Voldemort gets a new body with Peter Pettigrew's help

In the duel between Voldemort and Harry, Harry escapes. Back at Hogwarts, it turns out that Moody was actually the Death Eater Barty Crouch Jr. who is responsible for Harry's participation in the tournament.

5th school year

The Order of the Phoenix regroups against Voldemort, whose return the Ministry denies. This sends Dolores Umbridge to Hogwarts, who takes over the post from Moody.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter and Hermione found the DA (Dumbledore's Army) at Hogwarts, where he takes the lead. He learns that Voldemort is looking for a "weapon" that is probably hidden in the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry.

With a ruse by Lord Voldemort, which consists in a special magical, spiritual connection between Voldemort and Harry Potter, he lures Harry Potter into the Department of Mysteries, a few members of the DA set out there to help the allegedly tortured Sirius Black to rescue. They manage to get there, but are surprised by the Death Eaters. The Order of the Phoenix arrives, which is fighting the Death Eaters. Lord Voldemort, who now appears in person, can be put to flight by Dumbledore.

The "weapon" they were looking for was a prophecy that says Harry is the only one who can defeat Voldemort. The prophecy could not be heard by anyone as it was accidentally broken during the battle in the Department of Mysteries.

6th school year

Draco Malfoy is now a Death Eater himself and has been commissioned by Voldemort to smuggle his followers to Hogwarts and kill Dumbledore.

Professor Snape is now Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and Dumbledore prepares Harry for the Horcruxes to be destroyed. When they think they have found a Horcrux and return to Hogwarts, Dumbledore is disarmed by Draco Malfoy and killed by Severus Snape.

Draco Malfoy has succeeded in smuggling the Death Eaters to Hogwarts, who are now taking over the school.

7th school year

Harry, Hermione and Ron decide not to go to Hogwarts this year and prefer to find and destroy the Horcruxes. Some found them, in the meantime they were temporarily held captive in the Malfoy estate, together with students from Hogwarts School, a goblin from Gringott's Bank and the wandmaker Ollivander, where Harry disarmed Draco Malfoy in a fight and then with the help of Dobby the house-elf
