How much is the league trophy worth

DFB-Pokal: How great is the value of the trophy?

The end of the 2018/19 season will follow on May 25 with the DFB Cup final between FC Bayern and RB Leipzig. At the end of the game, a team is allowed to lift the 5.7 kilogram cup trophy into the Berlin night sky. But how much is the DFB Cup winner's trophy actually worth? SPOX went in search of an answer.

To date, 25 different teams have had the pleasure of presenting the coveted trophy in the club's own museum after winning the cup final. But the trophy is not only prestigious, but also of great monetary value.

DFB-Pokal: How much is the DFB-Poakl worth?

A total of eight liters can be poured into the winner's cup, which weighs more than 5 kilograms. After the 2019 cup final, the base will have to be raised to provide additional space for future cup winners.

The DFB Cup winner's trophy is estimated by art experts at around 35,000 euros, although the prestige associated with winning the golden cup is likely to be much higher.

However, the 54-year-old trophy is not indestructible. FC Schalke 04, or rather the trophy, felt that in 2002. While Schalke celebrated their DFB Cup victory exuberantly, the noble piece plopped to the ground and had to be straightened by a goldsmith.
