Ingredients (240 ml cup is used)

  • 400 to 500 grams of chicken cubes (boneless chicken)
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • Lemon juice from ½ lemon (see attachment)
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt or curd cheese or hung 1 cup curd (see instructions and appendix)
  • # 8539; Teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ tsp caraway powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi (fenugreek dried leaves)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying

Ingredients for sauce

  • 3 tbsps of oil
  • ½ teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 to 2 black cardomom
  • 3 green cardamom
  • 3 cloves (use up to 5)
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick (can be 2 inch stick)
  • 3 medium-fine chopped onions
  • 3 medium tomatoes (pureed)
  • 2 tsps of ginger garlic paste
  • 1 ½ teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • 4 tbsp cashew nut and melon paste (you can only use cashew paste)
  • ½ teaspoon kasuri methi
  • ¼ cup cream (optionally you can also use plain almond or cashew milk or cream)
  • ½ tsp. Garam Masala
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • ½ tsp. Sugar (optional)

Vegetables (chop large cubes)

  • 1 large onion (separate the layers of diced onion)
  • ½ small green pepper
  • ½ small red pepper (optional)
  • 1 tomato (pulp removal) (optional)

How to make the recipe

Making Hung Yogurt or Quark

  1. Add yogurt or cottage cheese to a thin cheesecloth or cheesecloth and knot it, hang it in the refrigerator for 5 to 6 hours for the whey to drain completely

  9. Cook in kasuri methi for 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Pour in the cream, add garam masala and add coriander leaves, away from the flame. Keep covered for at least 15 minutes
  11. Serve with paratha, roti, naan

Lemon Juice- You skip lemon juice when using sour yogurt
Hung curd- Making one cup of yogurt usually makes ½ cup of hung curd. But that depends on the type of yogurt
