Chocolate for diabetes: what to keep in mind

If you make chocolate yourself, you can reduce the sugar content and at the same time create new varieties according to your personal preferences.

Here is a simple recipe that is quick and healthier than store-bought chocolate. You need:

  • 125 g cocoa butter
  • 50 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • As you like: chopped nuts, vanilla pulp, dried berries, candied ginger, desiccated coconut, chilli ...
  • Preparation: Melt the cocoa butter at approx. 50 degrees in a water bath.
  • Slowly stir in the cocoa powder and agave syrup until no more lumps can be seen.
  • Then fill the chocolate in a suitable mold (preferably made of silicone) and sprinkle it with your favorite ingredients.
  • Let the mass cool in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
