How to get f20 on the keyboard

Put a tick under c - that's how it works

Set ticks with the keyboard

It can happen that you have to write a text or maybe just a word in a foreign language and are therefore dependent on special characters in the computer and that you can only write German letters with a German keyboard.

  • In French there is generally a tick under c or an accent on an e, a, or u.
  • Depending on what kind of tick it is or what kind of special characters you can use, you should memorize or write down a keyboard shortcut so that this foreign letter can be spelled quickly and correctly.

Put a tick under c

  • Put a tick under c, that means in French a c with cedilla or cedilla. There is of course the option of putting a small c with a tick or a capital C if it is at the beginning of a sentence.
  • These special diacritical marks are easy to set with a keyboard combination.
  • For a small c with a tick (as in the word garçon = boy) you should hold down the Alt key with your left hand and then press the numbers 0231 one after the other with your right hand. If you then release the keys all at the same time, the letter ç will appear.
  • As an alternative to this keyboard combination, you can also press the Alt key and then the numbers 135.
  • If there is a capital C with a tick, press the ALT key with your left hand and then press the numbers 0199 one after the other with your right hand. Immediately after releasing the keys, the letter Ç should appear.
  • As an alternative to this combination, you can also press the Alt key and then the numbers 128 in a row. This also leads to the same result.
  • If you are not lucky with your keyboard using the Alt keys and number combinations, you can alternatively insert a special character in a writing program such as Word. To do this, click on "Insert", then on "Special Characters". Here you look for the respective letter to insert. Note, however, that this is only possible in writing programs.
