How did Scott Siebenborn die

Solingen: Ex-head of the department Dieter Siebenborn has died

Solingen At the age of 85, the former head of the department Dieter Siebenborn died in his hometown of Bergisch-Gladbach. This was announced by the city press office yesterday.

Siebenborn was from 1976 to 1996 alderman of the city of Solingen. The culture was particularly close to his heart. Until his retirement, the lawyer was responsible for the areas of school, sport, library, orchestra, city archive and the German Blade Museum as well as culture.

During his term of office, the first comprehensive schools in Solingen were founded and new forms of training and further education were created. In sport he supported the expansion of popular sport. But his special passion was always art. With heart and soul he campaigned for the culture in Solingen, successfully sought sponsors, patrons and groups of friends who made some things possible that the public budget did not cover. The conversion of the Gräfrath Monastery into the German Blade Museum fell into his tenure as well as the spatial merging of the adult education center, the city library and the former culture office in the Clemens Galleries and the establishment of the Museum Baden, today's art museum.
